To include the voters who completed 18 years on 1st January 2025 in the new electoral roll and to prepare a flawless up-to-date electoral roll, the State Chief Electoral Officer’s office will undertake a program of brief revision of electoral rolls across the state from 20th August 2024 onwards. After the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, a special brief revision campaign of electoral roll will be launched by the state election system. Under which house to house survey will be conducted by booth level officers across the state from August 20. In which the list of youth who completed 18 years of age on 1st January 2025 and the inclusion of eligible citizens who are not registered as voters will be included and the list of voters who have migrated, died and registered more than once will be reduced.

Conscientious efforts are being made by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer to ensure that maximum voters, including women, disabled and youth, participate and register their names in the electoral roll to exercise their right to vote, as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India. After completion of house to house survey from 19th October-2024 to 28th October-2024 form no. 1 to 8 and the consolidated voter list will be prepared and the draft voter list will be published on 29th October-2024, after which, from 29th October-2024 to 28th November-2024, applications for addition, reduction and correction of names in the voter list can be applied for. These applications will be disposed of by 24th December-2024 and the final publication of the voter list will be done on 6th January.

From 19th October-2024 to 28th October-2024 Form no. 1 to 8 and the consolidated voter list will be prepared and the draft voter list will be published on 29th October-2024.

From 29th October-2024 to 28th November-2024, applications for addition, reduction and correction of names in the voter list can be applied for.

These applications will be disposed of by 24th December-2024 and final publication of the voter list will be done on 6th January.

What is a Voter ID card? 

A voter ID card, also known as “Voter Registration Card” or an “Election Card” is issued to an Indian citizen by the Election Commission of India which acts as a proof of his/her citizenship and allows them to cast their votes in this country. This photo identity card helps in improving the accuracy of the electoral roll and to help prevent cases of electoral fraud.

  • Passport size color photo
  • Birth Certificate
  • / Passport / Driving License / Pancard in ID proof
  • Ration Card/Passport/Driving License
  • Phone Bill or Light Bill in Address Proof

How to Apply Election Card at Home

– To apply online for Election Card go to https://voters.eci.gov.in/ and click on Form 6 option appearing on the left side.
– After this create your ID with mobile number and login.
– After login again click on form 6 option. After that select your state, district and city.
– Enter your important information like mobile number, address, constituency.
– After this enter the Election Card Number (Voter ID Number) and Name of your parents.
– After this enter Aadhaar number, date of birth and upload Aadhaar card photo and birth certificate photo.
– Finally enter captcha code and click submit form.
– Election card will reach your home within about 1 month after submission of form.
– After submission you will get a receipt number with which you can check the status of your voter form anytime after a week.
– Even if your form gets rejected, you will get its information from this number.

  • After logging in, change your password for security purposes.
  • Choose the “Form 6” or “Application for including name in assembly constituency voters list” option.
  • Fill in the form accurately and attach a recent passport-sized color photograph.
  • Submit the form online.
  • Visit the nearest voter ID facilitation center with the required supporting documents, including proof of address and identity, to complete the verification process.
  • Alternatively, you can directly visit a voter ID facilitation center, obtain Form 6, and apply for a voter registration card by submitting the necessary documents.
